Industrial Hygiene

All projects are performed under the direct supervision of OSI’s Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH).  OSI’s Industrial Hygiene professionals have extensive experience in assessing the potential hazard, designing the sampling methodology, conducting the field testing and preparing a detailed written report.  A followup discussion of  findings and potential corrective actions will ensure Client's compliance with OSHA regulations.  Our broad scope of expertise includes:

  • Quantitative occupational exposure assessments to chemical, biological, and physical hazards, such as:
    • Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
    • Asbestos and Lead
    • Molds, Fungi and Bacteria
    • Formaldehyde  and other aldehydes
    • Acid gases/caustics
    • Volatile Organic Compounds and solvents
    • Metals
    • Noise
    • Total and Respirable particulates
    • Aerosols, fumes & mists
  • Prepare Chemical Hygiene Plans and Laboratory safety and biological safety risk assessments
  • Surveys and investigations of employee complaints
  • Odor problem detection and resolution
  • Ventilation testing, evaluations and certifications
  • Confined space testing
  • Respiratory protection fit testing and training

Certifications and Standards

  • NIOSH, OSHA, ASTM, or EPA sampling methods
  • Reports reviewed and approved by ABIH Certified Industrial Hygienists
  • Results will be evaluated with current State (Cal/OSHA), Federal (OSHA), and ACGIH regulatory requirements
  • Samples are analyzed by an American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Accredited Laboratory
