OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits - Annotated Tables

November 6, 2013

Many OSHA permissible exposure limits (PELs) that were adopted in 1970s have remained the same. OSHA relied greatly on these legally enforceable limits to protect workers from their work environment. OSHA now recognizes organizations that publish occupational exposure limits based on current scientific data. Employers can adopt these exposure limits voluntarily. Cal/OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL) are recognized by OSHA, as the most extensive list of Occupational Exposure Limits among the states that have OSHA-approved State Plans. This is a step forward in protecting workers and will reestablish the need to update the current federal PELs. Please contact Johnny Lim at (858) 558-6736 for more information.
